I’m not going to go in depth with a review, but Universe At War is a fun game to play especially for RTS nuts. The graphics are crisp and shiny with DX10 support and it runs pretty well. The best feature of this game though is the varied factions, they are so different from each other it’s unreal. The imagination that went into the game was brilliant, nicely designed units and those hero units
To cut a long story short there are three main factions;
The Hierarchy, who do not build units from structures like conventional RTS games, but instead you call down massive walker units which can build units on the fly, they use very few structures.
The Novus, who are more conventional and build bases and the units from them, they have some unique features like shields and the ability for some units to teleport through networks of pylons.
The Masari who you can switch between light and dark modes, in one mode they are more defensive and the other more offensive, some units change to air units etc…
