The very best Android games Add to Facebook Share on Twitter

Shoot U
A hand drawn gem, Shoot U has you firing little men at a big red ball. Plenty of trajectory guessing skills needed here to fire your little men over, under and in-between obstacles. Graphics are great with a hand drawn feel making it look like you’re playing it on a little piece of paper, how lovely. Once again there are plenty of levels to keep your casual mind at play and a few different little men for you to throw around.

Hyperspace
A fun little 3D game, Hyperspace has you tilting your phone around to guide your football around the course. This is vaguely reminiscent of Monkeyball but much simpler and I think still pretty good. Lots of obstacles can get in your way, but you can always bounce your way past them. Learning curve is good and the challenge is there. Graphics are nicely done in 3D and soon you’ll be missing the sound of your ball bouncing when you’re not playing.

Puzzleblox
If you’re into your block/bubble popping games then Puzzleblox is probably the best and most unique version around, the idea is to pop the coloured blocks in groups of four and clear the playing field. The unique part is that you can, and in some cases must tilt the phone to move the blocks around the screen accompanied by phone vibration this feels right. There are two game modes, once being the arcade where there are endless blocks until you fail and the other being a level based affair where you have to get rid of all the blocks on the screen to continue, tilting is essential in this case. Well presented in graphics, sound and control this is a fun little game for those that love to pop stuff in groups of 4.

The Plateau
You may have played similar games before, but the premise of Plateau is to basically untangle the lines and make it so the lines are not touching or crossing. Easy to get into but quickly gets difficult this can warp your mind pretty soon. It’s a fun game with a great challenge, graphics are also nice and stuff… Not sure what else to say about Plateau, but I know you’ll enjoy it.

Super Tumble
This is basically the browser game Tumble Drop, a great game which is basically the opposite of Papa Stacker, you start of with a structure with a star at the top and have to make pieces disappear until the star is resting on the ground. Harder than it sounds as the ground is surrounded by water and gravity is in play. Your star will be tumbling and falling all over. Lots of levels, nice graphics and great physics make it a pleasant experience but may be a little slow for some.

Space Physics
Strange cousin of Crayon Physics space physics is basically the same game, you can draw shapes on the screen to get your little ball to the end point (a star). Again real physics are in play as you create all sorts of contraptions including cars and swings. This is a lovely little game for android making great use of the touch screen and providing lots of doodle based fun. Graphics are a little basic, I think I would have preferred the original Crayon style, but it doesn’t stop space physics from being a fantastic addition to the list.

Papa Stacker
A great little game which tests your spacial awareness skills to the max, you are given a set number of shapes to stack up on top of each other. Once you’ve placed all the shapes your tower has to stand a few seconds then you’re onto the next level. This is not like your average tower stacking game as there are many different shapes and sizes of piece as well as different platforms to build your tower on. Not the best graphics but they are cute and colourful, the audio is also pretty good with some comical sounds thrown in. Not the longest of games but with 40 levels and some brain scratchingly hard scenarios it will last you a good while.

GoGo Rescue Squad
This is a great little puzzle game that has some nice graphics. The aim of the game is to rescue the ‘Darwins’ from their burning buildings, you have to do this by jumping, throwing and dousing fires. It sounds simple enough but you have to do everything in the right order or you’re going to be left out of reach of objectives. The controls are well done too, it’s easy to move your firemen around and throw stuff back and forth, there’s also a handy rewind feature if you get something wrong.

Greedy Pirates is another free game worth giving a try. You have to see how far you can shoot a cannon ball by shaking and tilting your phone. My best so far is 5324 http://greedypirates.trevorboyle.com/

Or maybe he left them out because they’re rubbish. Well, they’re as good as racing games on a phone can be… but that’s not very good. They look fancy but I tire of them in minutes.
