The very best Android games Add to Facebook Share on Twitter

Traffic Jam
I have played games like this before but I think Traffic Jam is in there as my favourite of them, different skins ranging from cars to ice blocks mean you can make it a little more personal to you. The aim of the game is to shift the blocks/cars around the screen until you can slide out your piece, added points for time and the lest number of turns taken give this game an addictive edge. There are also many, many levels to get through and you’ll always manage to figure it out… Eventually.

Graviturn
One of my favouritest favourites, the aim of this game is to tilt your phone in an effort to remove all the red circles and keep all the green ones. The graphics are functional and pretty, this is another one of those games you can just pick up and play, each level more difficult than the next with thousands of levels to play I don’t think you’ll ever run out of fun with Graviturn.

Zenonia
The most in depth game in this list and one of the most rewarding too. This is the kind of long playing RPG that you would normally find on something like the Gameboy. You take on the role of a young boy who has to uncover the truth behind his origins and fight his way through cities and dungeons. The combat system is great, it feels very fluid and there’s no jumping in and out of battle, it all happens in real time on the main map. Lots of customisation here and lots of time to be wasted powering up your character and kitting him out. Graphics are detailed and colourful and controls whilst not ideal work surprisingly well.

Kumpa
I have not played an awful lot of Kumpa, but it’s already seeming to be a great little tilt based game, it’s like labyrinth on steroids. Time limits and obstacles add variety to this great little time waster. You basically tilt your way through mazes activating runes on the floor as you go.

SpeedX 3D
This is a very fun and very nice looking game. You take control of… Something… Racing though a tunnel with many different obstacles thrown your way. There’s a lot of speed involved and a lot of 3D, the track is not just a tunnel either, sometimes it will turn into a flat road and sometimes you will be riding on the outside of the cylinder instead, reminds me of FzeroX in some ways. The only downside to the game is the repetitive music track.

Robo Defense
Tower defense games are ten a penny and they all seem to be as popular as the next. Robo defense is a simple yet addictive implementation on android. Build a wall of gun towers to take out the invading armies with plenty of different weapons and gadgets to keep them at bay. Robo defense is graphically competent but it all works really well together to make this a fun and addictive tower defense game.

2/4 Player reactor
A great little game to play with friends, there’s not much in the way of graphics but they are well implemented and functional. The idea of the game is that you and your friend(s) sit around the phone with fingers poised to press your button the fastest. There are plenty of different games to play but they all basically come down to who presses the fastest. A fun game to play with friends for bragging rights or just to incite a punchup.

Sniper Vs Sniper
This is a great little game which uses touch and tilt allowing you to spot and snipe enemies. The graphics in this game are great making zooming in and out to blow enemies heads off a breeze. The basic gameplay mechanic is that you zoom out to see a target, use your binoculars to get in close and then pop his head off with a round from the rifle. Tilt controls are nice and give you a little something to do other than press buttons on the screen. The game also includes an online mode so you can play against your friends or team up with them to take out the enemies.

Buka
Buka is a very original game where you protect a little planet from other little planets who want to hurt you. Buka is a cute little character who you’ll love, even though he is essentially just a planet. Use your touch based controls to bump enemies away and blow them up, more points for multikills and more fun too. Different enemies keep this game interesting but the simple gameplay is what makes it great. Graphics are also sharp and colourful adding to the experience.

Greedy Pirates is another free game worth giving a try. You have to see how far you can shoot a cannon ball by shaking and tilting your phone. My best so far is 5324 http://greedypirates.trevorboyle.com/

Or maybe he left them out because they’re rubbish. Well, they’re as good as racing games on a phone can be… but that’s not very good. They look fancy but I tire of them in minutes.
