I’m not going to go in depth with a review, but Universe At War is a fun game to play especially for RTS nuts. The graphics are crisp and shiny with DX10 support and it runs pretty well. The best feature of this game though is the varied factions, they are so different from each other it’s unreal. The imagination that went into the game was brilliant, nicely designed units and those hero units 🙂

lol…
These things are great, tiny computers that interact with each other based on physical interaction and changes, they don’t seem too exciting until you see things like the calculator and word games. These would be great for children and learning, wish I had them when I was a kid, hell I want them now!
Just before I try out the demo I thought I would post this nice video showing some of the highlights of Halo Wars, it’s looking pretty good, very nice units, I’m still afraid it might not work very well with a 360 controller, but that’s what the demo is for, lets hope it blows me away…
Got back into Supreme Commander again, this time with a vengeance. Me and Dave have been playing quite a few matches against AI and each other, though maybe we should play each other a little more often. Keep forgetting that I have forged alliance, will have to get that installed again 🙂
I love those Monkeylords;

I was looking for an alternative to AVG antivirus, maybe something a little more comprehensive, so I had a look around and according to this site G Data diagnosed the most viruses from a test bunch and hence one would think is the best antivirus to have. They have a 30 day trial so I figured I would give it a try, the program looks nice and seems not to take up too many resources, the fun ends there however…
Once installed the program kept getting stuck when scanning certain files on my disk, usually in fact the same one each time so finishing a scan was impossible even after 5 hours stuck on the same file. Even when I tried to heal infections the program froze for 5 minutes and failed to remove half of them.
The second issue with the program is that it interfered with my web browsing, half of webpage images did not load, some websites refused to load at all sometimes, including Facebook. It also scanned almost every file in a webpage including flash videos, so instead of getting a video straight up and streaming from Youtube I had to wait for the whole video to download and then be scanned most of the time.

Little Big Planet, arguably the saviour of the PS3, the shining beacon which is such an epic piece of work only an idiot would not like. Or… Is it? I never got the hype of LBP, sure it might be a nice platformer to play but to say that it is revolutionary because it lets you design levels with mechanical moving bits is like saying a turd can make it into space and land on the moon by sticking lots of jet shaped stickers on it and making it smell like honey. In other words all I see is a platformer, not the second coming.
Thankfully Yahtzee agrees with me;
I never played the original Turok much, but did play Turok 2 quite a bit and I found it brilliant. The graphics were awesome for the time and the universe it was set in was brilliant, you had a native American taken out of his tribe to fight mutant dinosaurs with space ships and a massive evil overlord. Not to mention very varied weapons that were a lot of fun.
